This Privacy Policy describes how SiteWatch Lite (the "Extension") handles user data.

1. Our Policy

The Extension does not collect, transmit, or store any personal data on external servers. All data is stored locally on your device using Chrome's built-in storage API (chrome.storage.local).

2. Data Stored Locally

The following data is stored on your device only:

Monitor configurations (URLs, CSS selectors, check intervals)
Page snapshots (text content of monitored elements for change comparison)
Change history records (old value, new value, timestamp)
User settings (Pro status, notification preferences)

This data is automatically deleted when you uninstall the Extension. You can also manually delete individual monitors or all data from the Settings panel.

3. Data We Do NOT Collect

Personal information (name, email, address, etc.)
Browsing history or tracking data
Cookie information
Location data
Any other personally identifiable information

4. Network Requests

The Extension makes HTTP requests only to the specific webpages you choose to monitor. These requests:

Are made directly from your browser with no intermediary servers
Do not include cookies or authentication credentials
Are used solely to check for changes in monitored content

No data is ever sent to our servers or any third-party analytics services.

5. External Services

ExtensionPay (Stripe): Used for Pro subscription payments. We do not store or access your payment details. See ExtensionPay's privacy policy.

We do not use any analytics, tracking, or advertising services.

6. Permissions Explained

host_permissions (<all_urls>): Required to fetch any webpage you choose to monitor
alarms: Schedule periodic checks at your chosen intervals
notifications: Show desktop alerts when changes are detected
storage / unlimitedStorage: Save monitors, history, and settings locally
sidePanel: Provide the dashboard interface

7. Data Sharing

We do not sell, share, or transfer any user data to third parties. We have no access to your data in the first place.

8. Children's Privacy

SiteWatch Lite does not knowingly collect information from children under 13.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected in the "Last updated" date above.
